I believe the ext2 file system is faster and uses less resources than the 
umsdos file system.  So ext2 is best.
Which is assuming it's a Linux-only machine.  If it's an MsDos and Linux box, 
then umsdos may be more convenient, since you can easily run MsDos utils on 
your Linux data, should the need arise.
