No doubt, some list members have read, on Slashdot, about
the formation of CE Linux.  For those that haven't, here

Basically Matsushita, Sony, Hitachi, NEC, Philips, Samsung,
Sharp, Toshiba (and IBM soon) have banded together to investigate how
to use Linux as the basis for Comsumer Electronics (CE) products.

This news might be interesting to the rest of OpenCores as
many of the initial applications for OpenCores seem to be in
embedded products.  Free CE software running on a Free (OpenCores)
platform would be an interesting thing to have.
