    I am not sure but IMO you should (a) understand the details of muLinux
    by studying it... and then (b) compile all the tools and the kernel
    using a modern gcc.

    Probably mixing stuff that was compiled wit the old gcc and stuff that
    was compiled with the new one will not work.

    But this is only theory - in case somebody knows more, please tell us!
