Recently I installed a Diamond card, then configured it on my Debian setup.
The usual X servers, VGA16 & SVGA didn't work. The card needed an S3 server.
Here's a general table of video cards and what X servers they use:

...but I'm not sure where to get one of these S3 servers that works with
muLinux.
