Maybe, my rustic test about -O option ( a new feature) do not work.
Try to put the row:

                MKFS_OPT="$MKFS_OPT -O none"

at the end of the prerequisites() function, forcing the thing.

In alternative to substitute, in the "mu" script,

        mkfs.ext2 -> $TREE/usr/bin/mkfs.ext2

In this way, you will use the muLinux mkfs.ext2.

Or: do your operation from muLinux, not SUSE! You have only to
mount your Linux partition (but you can't :-)).
