Surely if it's Linux software and you have the source code, you recompile, tweak, and it works :-) Obviously this doesn't apply to
libraries and drivers (kernel, X, etc.), but the work for most of these has alreday been done, or people are working on it.
If you don't have the source code, there are several things you can get to run x86 software on PPC, for example bochs, which emulates a
Pentium (I think). A good place to start looking would be www.macwindows.com, or the linux hardware projects site at www.linux.org. The
former is solely for Mac OS <-> Windows, but can provide a starting point. The later is a good reference for what's happening in the
world of Linux.
