The question
is less wether it can but rather what to encrept meaning you can always before
sending the packet to the MAC or when getting the packet from the MAC add
someting like Triple-DES however you need to think carefully what you want to
encrept as if for example you do so to the DA/SA L2 forwardign will no pass and
if you touch the IP Header L3 etc will fail.
so you
should in addition to the 3DES code (which is reletivly easy tho' lots of table
to write) add a decoder to determine where to start and where to end the
encription.
needless to say you also need for such think some software application to
exchange key etc.
