I would assume that your course literature contains information about number
representation, binary numbers and boolean math, probably somewhere in the
first two or three chapters.
Read up on one's- and two's complement representation, think for a few minutes
(seconds) and write the RTL. Trust me, as a working engineer you will benefit
greatly from doing so now. ;-)
