Can I suggest that before you do anything else, you try
setup -f lang
and tell the appropriate prompts that you want codepage 850 and keyboard
map
fr.map.
Specifying codepage 850 should result in the loading of
/tmp/modules/preferred/fs/nls_cp850.o . If that file is somehow missing
from
your system, you can find it in the tar archive at
http://sunsite.dk/mulinux/mu/misc/MODULES-36.tgz as
2.0.36/fs/nls_cp850.o.
However, the file shouldn't be missing, and if it is there are probably
other things wrong as well, so it may be a good idea to reinstall
mulinux from scratch, rather than encounter a series of mysterious
failures.
