Maybe you like to try the following:
go to /etc/ppp
in the file options, comment out (use #), if any, the items user and
pass
in the file pap-secrets, there should a line "YOURUSERNAME *
YOURPASSWORD"
soft link file pap-secrets to chap-secrets
pppd or ppp-on
