The connection script, itself, worked well. The PPP dialog is started, and
the server send you <auth chap md5>. So, try CHAP intensively.

Do not try "chat"; this is not a true protocol, but only my way to call the
traditional login/password authentication with chat scripts.

Try to inspect ppp.log for big Linux distros.
Furthmore: inspect /etc/ppp/chap-secrets and /etc/ppp/pap-secrets: does your
password seems correct?

The setup/ppp is much well tested by many users, in the past. Sorry.
