Hello,
I'm new to muLinux. In order to get my old laptop into use again, I've tried several floppy-based distributions. I learned a lot about Linux, but never was satisfied with the endresult. Whether I had to use a lot of floppy's, or there was a lack of good scripts, or a lack of support etc. etc.
How different muLinux. Everything I've seen so far, looks good to me. I made the the warned for mistake not to confuse the install disk with a boot disk, I didn't install the USR-part of the floppy, but with the available docs and with thinking it all over, I managed to get the system working, floppybased, without a lot of effort after all. Thanks to all who helped to get muLinux where it is now.
But, now I'm trying to clone muLinux to my harddisk, I do need your help. My aim is to make my laptop 'linux-only', so there is no DOS-partition available, and there won't be. I used the clone-command, and finally ended up with a reformatted hda1, with all (?) muLinux avalable. When rebooting, the system stops at the famous 'LI'.
First of all, I want to know if the aim of the clone-command is to leave me with a system that will reboot from hda1 without any manual editting config-files. If yes, I will do the whole process over to see it there are any error-messages I overlooked. If not, what actions have to take place to get to that situation (my experience with the other floppy-based distribution learned I did have to edit lilo-configuration file, and run lilo to install a new map)?
