I have barrier using Windows, but I'm an exception. For example,
I tried many times to look inside some .exe (also with vi) without
success :-). I also tried to edit with "vi" many .doc document, but
they looks very different from .tex, or .html. A document binary! Why?

I have barrier installing Windows, because I absolutely can't control
what partition will be formatted! I have to disconnect my Linux
hard-disk, because I really suspect MS products do probe my Debian and
try to remove it silenty (it is not a joke).

I have barrier ... (stop here, or this email will look like a M.L. King
apolog).

I think the true barrier is that against knowledge one. Maybe, inspecting
source code in MS-WIndows, some guy might understand finally why
the simple change of the hostname requires a shutdown; but source code
is not available ...
