As a newbie (and a big fool too, I am sure) I don't have the necessary knoledge to change configurations without great danger. I don't even know yet where the many config files are hidden. So, I'm using only RAM standard installation to try mulinux in my home computer, where I have also an experimental full Linux (brazilian Conectiva).

I can guarantee that mulinux was able to configure X11 in my computer from 6r4 to 7r3b (without any configuration file change). Now it seems it doesn't find a suitable mode anymore.

Look at the startx error log below, please.
